Jinmi Macaulay
Corporate Affairs Leader


Jinmi is a senior corporate affairs professional with experience advising boards and executives in highly regulated sectors.

Most recently, he served as director of external communications at Data Communications Company (Smart DCC), the organisation responsible for building and operating Great Britain’s smart meter network.

Before that, Jinmi led public affairs for National Gas (formerly National Grid Gas Transmission) and also held the position of UK policy manager within National Grid Group.

His earlier career spans a range of policy, communications, and regulatory roles at leading organisations including a UK trade body, the Bank of England, and the Financial Ombudsman Service. He also worked as a parliamentary researcher for a former government minister and Select Committee chair

Dr Maureen Paul
Senior Director and Global Principal Jacobs


Maureen Paul is the Senior Director and Global Principal for Energy Transition and Regulatory Economics at Jacobs. She leads strategic regulatory and economics advice to bring clarity and realism to complex energy market challenges, enabling evidence-based decisions and leveraging Jacobs’ multidisciplinary engineering expertise to deliver practical, positive solutions.

Previously, Maureen held several senior roles at Ofgem, including Chief Economist. Her career spans both public and private sectors, with roles at the Office of Fair Trading, the UK Competition Commission, and consultancy firms including EY, Deloitte, and Grant Thornton. At Grant Thornton, she served as Director of Economic Consulting, specialising in energy and water regulation.

Maureen is a passionate advocate for diversity within the sector, having led multiple initiatives aimed at increasing representation among talented individuals from underrepresented backgrounds. Notably, she was part of the trailblazer group that introduced the economics apprenticeship programme in the Civil Service, and she established a mentorship scheme linking Ofgem with the University of Greenwich.

Ben Parsons
Partner, Oaklin


Ben is a Partner at Oaklin, an award-winning independent management consulting firm, where he leads the Energy practice. With 15 years’ experience in consulting and board advisory, Ben specialises in helping organisations navigate the Energy Transition, deliver Net Zero, and shape the power system of the future. He has worked with some of the largest and most ambitious energy companies in the world, providing strategic advice. His expertise spans a wide range of topics, including market entry and business strategy, organisation design, and the mobilisation of complex infrastructure projects. 

He has led multi-billion-pound merger and acquisition programmes, developed operating models for global energy organisations, and worked to launch transformative business propositions. In addition to his work in energy and renewables, Ben leads Oaklin’s Sustainability and ESG initiatives, driving both the firm and its clients to operate more sustainably. Committed to fostering collaboration across industry, academia, and policy, Ben is passionate about accelerating the energy transition and addressing the defining challenge of our generation: climate change.
